the damage is counted after the occupation

TURIN – Yesterday the boys and girls of Student Intifada they announced the end of the occupation of Palazzo Nuovo. The occupation of the Physics Faculty has also ended. However, the occupation of the Polytechnic remains alive.

Student Intifada decided to stop the occupation because “it no longer fulfilled its function”, but the pro-Palestine protest activities do not stop.

The damage is being counted

However, after 40 days of occupation, it’s time for… damage calculation and verification of usability of all the premises to be able to resume study activities, as communicated by the rector UniTo Geuna.

Extensive damage which unfortunately is clearly visible: there are writings on the walls, drawings on stairs, floors, glass and windows. Dirt that will have to be cleaned up and which could take longer, especially considering that there is still no precise estimate.

Until the last scar: black paint on the entrance to the Rectorate in via Po. An act of vandalism rather than a claim, harshly condemned by the mayor Stefano Lo Russo who defends the importance and value of the artistic and cultural heritage of the city.

The municipality of Turin will take responsibility and pay for cleaning up the porticoes of Via Po. It is worth asking ourselves whether that money would have been better spent elsewhere.
