Arezzo, 21 June 2024 – The new role for Doctor Federico Scarponi who will direct the complex Functional Recovery and Re-education structure for the Arezzo Provincial Area was signed today.
He specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2006 at the University of Perugia and worked at the Auxologico IRCSS institute in Verbania and subsequently at the Neurorehabilitation department of the Maugeri IRCSS Clinical Institutes in Pavia, before returning to Umbria in 2008.
Dr. Scarponi, who will enter into service in mid-September, comes from qualified experience in the Umbria 2 Local Health Authority under the guidance of Dr. Mauro Zampolini, becoming, starting from 2015, the Head of the Neurorehabilitation Department of the Foligno Hospital, a structure of important regional importance in the treatment of serious acquired brain injuries.
Precisely on the topic of Neurorehabilitation – which he has discussed as author or co-author in over 20 international scientific publications – he has gained considerable experience at a regional and national level, both by being part of the Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Neurological Rehabilitation (SIRN) for 10 years , both as current secretary of the Severe Acquired Brain Injury section of the Italian Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (SIMFER) and participating as a moderator or speaker in various national conferences.
