“Since the afternoon of Friday 9pm and the early hours of Saturday 22, phase of instability, with mainly heavy showers and thunderstorms, including intense ones (heavy showers, strong gusts of wind, locally significant hailstorms), more widespread and organized in mountain and foothill areas and on the western plain. The most significant phenomena are expected in the late afternoon and the evening“: this is what the Arpav experts report in relation to the expected weather situation Veneto in the next few hours. As regards the general evolution, in the usual bulletin we read: “On Friday the high pressure area will begin to give way due to the entry from the west, in the evening, of an unstable/disturbed impulse, associated with cold air at high altitude. This configuration will lead to a phase of marked instability in the Veneto, first in the mountainous areas, then, in the evening, also in part of the plains, therefore intense showers and thunderstorms will be probable. Subsequently, the circulation will remain cyclonic due to the establishment of a depression core between the Ligurian Sea and the upper Tyrrhenian Sea, at least until Tuesday. Phases of precipitation will alternate in the region, at times widespread, alternating with pauses, with the absence of phenomena. Maximum temperatures will drop over the weekend, followed by a recovery on Monday“.
Today weather that was initially variable and finally unstable, with clear spaces and cloud accumulations that gradually became more significant during the afternoon starting from the mountainous areas. The probability of precipitation will increase to high, especially from late afternoon (75-100%), due to scattered to widespread phenomena with a predominantly downpour or thunderstorm character (medium-high probability 75-100%); towards the evening the phenomena will tend to also affect part of the plain, in particular the central-western areas, local phenomena cannot be ruled out even on the coastal areas towards the end of the day. Intense phenomena will be probable (heavy showers, strong gusts of wind, locally large hailstorms). Maximum temperatures without notable variations or locally slight increase. Strong winds at altitude from the south-west; elsewhere mainly weak with variable direction, except for wind reinforcements during thunderstorms.
According to the weather bulletin from the Arpa Veneto experts, Tomorrow Clear or slightly cloudy skies are expected in the morning, except for an increase in cloud cover from late morning in the mountain areas. In the afternoon, irregular clouds, initially more frequent in the mountain and foothill areas, then in the evening also in the plains.
Precipitation: Absent until much of the morning. From the central hours the probability of precipitation will increase again (up to a high 75-100%), including showers or thunderstorms starting from the mountain and foothill areas and from the evening also over a good part of the plains.
Temperatures: Decreasing, except for local stationarity of the maximum temperatures on the coast.
Winds: At altitude mainly from the southern quadrants, still tense in the early hours of the night, then easing to weak. In the plains until part of the afternoon moderate winds from the west, then they will be of variable direction and with intensity at times even moderate, especially from the evening, with possible gusts during thunderstorms.
Sea: Little rough.
Sunday 23 frequent cloudiness, with possible clearing towards the evening starting from the eastern sectors.
Precipitation: Widespread to scattered precipitation until well into the afternoon, including showers or occasional thunderstorms, then a tendency for the phenomena to thin out first on the coastal and easternmost areas of the plain, and towards the evening on the rest of the region, until it runs out of precipitation over a large part of the territory.
Temperatures: Minimum stationary or decreasing locally, maximum decreasing, even markedly.
Winds: In the plains winds from moderate eastern quadrants, at times tense; in the evening on the Bora coast tesa. At altitude winds from the eastern quadrants are tense, even strong at times.
Sea: Mostly rough, at times very rough on the southern coastal sectors since the evening.
Monday 24th variable weather, with skies ranging from clear or slightly cloudy to irregularly cloudy, with more frequent cloud cover in the southern plains and mountainous areas. Scattered and intermittent rainfall will be likely in the southernmost sectors of the plain and locally in mountainous areas, especially in the afternoon. Minimum temperatures also increasing markedly in the plains, slightly decreasing in the mountains; maximum in general recovery. Moderate/tense Bora on the coast; weak/moderate winds from eastern quadrants at altitude.
Finally, according to the weather forecasts of the Arpa Veneto experts, Tuesday 25 Initially partly cloudy weather is expected, then irregular clouds that become more frequent and consistent during the afternoon. The probability of precipitation will increase from late morning, with phenomena tending to become widespread during the day over a large part of the territory until late evening, then a tendency for precipitation to thin out/run out starting from the west. Minimum temperatures decreasing in the plains, without notable variations elsewhere; decreasing maximums. Weak winds at altitude from the eastern quadrants; on the coast and neighboring plain moderate/tense Bora until early morning, subsequently easing.
