The floriculture industry of Campania finally has its point of reference. It officially starts Coldiretti regional council for floriculture. A journey that began with a series of stops in the various provinces where the representatives of the national council had the opportunity to meet those directly interested.
A journey that ended at the flower market Herculaneum in the presence of entrepreneurs from Naples and Caserta, after the previous stages with Salerno, Benevento and Avellino.
«A project that began three years ago, strongly supported by the president of Coldiretti Ettore Prandini and which aims at the growth of the sector starting from the training of entrepreneurs. Inform about the laws in force and the opportunities to be seized. And again, the valorisation of Made in Italy crops, the recognition of the right income and the protection of national productions with appropriate labelling”, underlines the director of Coldiretti Campania Salvatore Loffreda.
The spotlight is on a sector that has too often been kept on the sidelines of discussions, but which instead occupies an important place in terms of number of companies and employees as explained No Scissors coordinator of the National Floriculture Council of Coldiretti: «We met 150 small and large companies in the sector. Flower and plant producers, arborists, greenery maintainers. All present at the various moments of debate. With them we explained the things done by the national council and what needed to be done. We found a great desire to do things and a great interest in participating in the one in Campania.”
There is a lot of work to do as he explains Mario Faro President of the Coldiretti Floriculture National Council: «We insist on product made in Italy. Too many foreign products on our market that compete unfairly with our farmers, too often the flowers come from countries that have labor costs far lower than ours. We need compensation, we must help those who respect the rules and produce quality products. The task of the regional council will be to listen and forward the reports to the national management to try to resolve the problems by bringing them to the attention of Rome and Brussels depending on the type of need”.
