Vittorio Sgarbi’s defamation trial before the Brescia court has been postponed

It was supposed to start today in front of the Brescia court the trial against Vittorio Sgarbi, accused of defamation against Milanese magistrates. The hearing was postponed “while waiting to evaluate whether there are offers of compensation from the accused”.

In the March 24, 2019 episode of «Non è l’Arena» Sgarbi attacked two magistrates of the Milan Prosecutor’s Office, Luca Gaglio and Tiziana Siciliano, holders of the Ruby Ter investigation «referring to the former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and to the ladies who participated in the meetings defined as Bunga Bunga» writes the prosecutor in the notice of conclusion of the investigation.

Sgarbi said: «It’s a shame that we are still trying Berlusconi for this nonsense. A disgrace to the unworthy state. Whoever opened this investigation should be ashamed, shame on them”, is one of the phrases uttered by Vittorio Sgarbi – certainly not new to similar cases – and which ended up in the records of the investigation of the Brescia prosecutor’s office responsible for proceedings concerning the magistrates of Milan.

Judge Roberto Spanó postponed the hearing to July 16. «And in the meantime we could try to bring the parties closer together» said the judge, hypothesizing a financial agreement as compensation by the critic towards the magistrates. Sgarbi was not present in the courtroom.
