Crotone – Not even the anticyclone Minos was able to stop the Crotone Fotoamatori Group which continues its work of photographic dissemination. The exhibition was inaugurated in recent days“Travel Notes” with 12 works by the member Giulio Maletta.

The great advantage of Maletta is to highlight details that are usually overlooked, allowing us to admire their beauty. He manages to transform objects and places into works of art that the fog of custom cloaks in an indistinct mass.

The author presents his work like this: «Geometries and perspectives: postcards with an ancient flavor, memories of unusual places». The postcards to which the author refers are precisely those that traveling relatives and friends sent to those who remained at home. They were cards with views of landscapes and monuments and were often collected. They also served to fix a memory, a sort of diary in images. And this is precisely the case of Maletta who from his travels he brought home snapshots that remind him of key moments. For us, however, it has given us some evocative images that lead us to think about how much beauty there is around us. Beautiful that it is easily accessible only if we have eyes to see.
