Has shot his wife around half past midnight on Friday, then it was reported himself to the neighbors, who in turn called for help. Upon the police’s arrival at his home, an eighty-year-old from Arezzo said he had carried out the act because worn out from the serious illness of the 72-year-old woman who had been suffering from Alzheimer’s for some time, who he was now struggling to look after.
When the 118 personnel arrived in the apartment – in Viale Giotto, in the center of the Tuscan city – the elderly lady was already dead. The man, in a state of shock, was arrested and taken to the police station. The weapon used in the murder was regularly reported. In the same hours another uxoricide occurred in Cagliariwhere a 77-year-old stabbed to death his 59-year-old wife with whom he had been on bad terms for some time.
