Today’s edition of “Il Giornale di Sicilia” focuses on the Palermo market with Spezia insisting on Soleri.
Palermo’s outgoing market could have its first important development in the next few days, with the possibility that Edoardo Soleri move on to Spezia. Soleri, recently spotted in the Ligurian city together with his ex-partner Massolo, has been a target for Spezia since January and now the negotiation seems to be moving towards a positive conclusion. Soleri has a contract with Palermo until 2026, but he could be attracted by the prospect of a starting place at Spezia.
On the contrary, Jeroen Zoet could do the opposite. With his contract with Spezia expiring on June 30, Zoet is being sought by several teams, including Palermo. The Dutch goalkeeper, born in 1991, found more space at Spezia after Dragowski’s departure and could offer the necessary experience between the posts for Palermo, alongside the young Desplanches.
As for Matteo Brunori, the race for his salary is progressing slowly. The most concrete interest seems to come from Empoli, which offers the possibility of playing in Serie A, an objective that Brunori has been cultivating for some time. However, Palermo still hopes to keep him in the squad and take him to the summer training camp. Otherwise, the Rosanero club is evaluating alternatives such as Gianluca Lapadula, currently involved in the Copa America but considered transferable by Cagliari.
In midfield, Palermo is trying to formalize the renewal of Jacopo Segre and aims to sign Luca Mazzitelli from Frosinone, a midfielder who can add goals and quality in playmaking. However, competition from Parma and Venice is fierce. Alternatively, Palermo monitors Giuseppe Hasa of Juventus Next Gen, available for a transfer after a good season in Serie C.
These movements are part of a broader plan to strengthen the squad, necessary to raise the quality level of the team and compete for promotion to Serie A.
