Joe Biden has also solicited ideas from advisers on how to proceed, and his staff has debated whether he should hold a press conference or hold interviews to defend himself and change the narrative, but nothing has been decided yet. His advisers made the phone lines red hot over the weekend to keep key elected officials and donors from abandoning him. Other family members are trying to figure out how they could help. At least one of the president’s grandchildren has expressed interest in becoming more involved in the campaign, perhaps by talking to social media influencers, according to the person briefed.
