The weekend finally arrives, two days to rest and have fun with walks, excursions, parties, good food, music and art: as always in the province of Latina there are many events for all tastes. If you don’t already have plans, here are some suggestions.
Food and wine
With the summer, the opportunities to taste the exceptional local products multiply, wines, oils, cheeses, blue fish, products of the land and so do the events that allow you to have guided tastings, in fact this weekend they will be held in Fondi Franciacorta in Villa, dedicated to wines and local excellences and Sapori di Mare in Sperlonga, an event dedicated to fish delicacies and more.
Events and parties
There are many events held during the summer, from street parties to historical reenactments to religious and secular events. This week you are spoiled for choice: in Cori the Carosello Storico dei Rioni comes to life with the Palio della Madonna del Soccorso, in Priverno the propitiatory dinners that precede the Palio del Tributo continue with the Festa di Porta Romana.
A sea of events continues in Fondi, the rich calendar of summer events with live music and fun for everyone. On the occasion of the celebrations dedicated to the patron saint of Latina and the Pontine countryside, the evocative night pilgrimage to the house of the Martyrdom of Maria Goretti will be held. The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus kicks off in Borgo Sabotino with a food stand and live music every evening. Latina will also celebrate the 90th anniversary of the city section of the Alpine corps.
There are many big screens placed throughout the province to watch Italy’s match against Switzerland in the round of 16.
For those who love nature and history, as is customary during the summer, there are guided tours of the Garden of Ninfa
Theater show
The weekend will be dotted with many live shows, starting on Friday evening Giobbe Covatta will bring his latest show to the evocative setting of the archaeological park of Antica Norba. The Radure festival also kicks off, bringing live shows to the most beautiful places of the Southern Vina Francigena in the Pontine region. In Formia, however, the festival dedicated to children’s theater Il Cancello delle Favole returns punctually as every year.
Culture
There are also many cultural events: it continues with the second weekend of Altri Storie events which brings music, meetings and debates to the Q5 district. The RetroFestival is held in Terracina to take a dive into the music and dance of the 1950s. The final show of the Novecento exhibition will take place in the Arena of the Cambellotti Museum.
Exhibitions
There are also many events for art lovers: in Bassiano you can actively participate in the sound installation Archive of Voices. The Monti 8 In Between solo exhibition by artist Monika Marchewka continues at the Monti gallery, in the splendid medieval village the Sermoneta Summer Art group show and at OmniArt the Art is Now group show.
Cinema
For those who love watching films on the big screen, as always in the Pontine theaters there is a vast program.
