Crotone – The devices for electronic reading of microchips for the control of domestic dogs, which will be part of the equipment of the Local Police Command, were delivered this morning to the Environment sector structure.

This is an initiative to combat the phenomenon of stray dogs but also aimed at giving a boost to the monitoring of domestic dogs.

In fact, in the presence of the Councilor for the Environment and Local Police Angela Maria De Renzo was the director of the Environment sector Elisabetta Dominijanni to deliver the two devices to Commander Francesco Iorno.

Present was the Environment sector official Daniela Corasaniti.

The detectors will allow local police officers to identify dogs during checks.

It is in fact mandatory to equip your pet with a microchip that contains the registration of an identification code.

The code is registered at the Regional Canine Registry and allows the animal to be associated with the owner’s personal data.

The objective of the new instruments is aimed at combating the phenomenon of abandonment which, among other things, is very frequent in summer, and verifying regular registration in the canine registry.

An innovative and civilized act but also a sign of sensitivity towards man’s best friend and an invitation not to abandon them.

This innovative Local Police service will also be carried out by combining the fight against the phenomenon of dog excrement that litters the city streets.
