Cinema and audiovisual announcement, ranking approved: 32 projects admitted to funding

There are 32 projects admitted to financing as part of the public notice which made available 3 million euros of Pr Fesr 2021-2027 resources (action 1.3.5 “Support for cultural businesses”) for the production of cinematographic and audiovisual works . In fact, the ranking has been approved and can be consulted on the regional website or on that of Sviluppo Toscana, which is managing the tender.

The applications received (the call closed last January) were 86 and the 32 admitted to funding exhausted the 3 million euro budget, divided as follows: 7 short films (140 thousand euros of assigned contribution), 14 documentaries (560 thousand euros), 8 feature films (1.8 million euros) and 3 TV series or fiction (500 thousand euros).

“This was the first tender that Tuscany presented for cinematographic and audiovisual productions – explained President Giani -. It had a significant success, considering the number of applications submitted and the complete allocation of the resources made available. Thanks to the ERDF-regional funds co-financing there are 6 million euros which we have decided to divide into two tenders. The hope is to present a new one by the end of the year, with at least the same financial allocation, which will allow us to make the most of the experience gained and to take into account the elements and observations that emerged in the management of the first, so as to respond to the better to the needs of the sector”. “Cinematic and audiovisual productions – he added – represent one of the main promotion activities of a territory, but I would also like to underline the cultural valorization and the creation of entrepreneurial and therefore employment chains. These are the elements that push us to invest significant resources in this sector.”

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the Italian, European or non-European cinematographic and audiovisual production sector could participate in the tender. Among the main requirements required is the localization of the projects in the territory of Tuscany, with a particular reward dedicated to inclusion, equal opportunities, the containment of environmental impacts, and the implementation of the intervention in the so-called Internal Areas.

Among the evaluation criteria for the composition of the ranking, the ability of the proposed works to promote the image of Tuscany, enhancing its history, current affairs, culture, landscape, traditions, food and wine and identity; the generation of a positive impact in terms of employment in the region; respect for equal opportunities, gender non-discrimination and inclusion of the youth component; the containment of the environmental impact and the valorisation of the aforementioned internal areas of the Tuscan territory. The productions benefiting from the resources will be able to make use of the collaboration of the Toscana Film Commission (department of the Fondazione Sistema Toscana), the reception desk for the Region’s film and audiovisual sets.
