It will be three days of great events and as always a great cultural container where you can meet the protagonists of the world of wine, participate in the presentation of books and meet the authors, listen to live music, watch talk shows, but above all taste the best excellent wine productions from Lazio, nationally and internationally. It’s all contained in the numerous events that will follow one another IX edition of the event “Everybody down in the cellar – Wine culture festival”scheduled to Velletri from the 28 to 30 June organized by the Association “Ideas in turmoil” and from “CREA Viticulture Enology”, as always in the splendid setting of the structure in Via Cantina Sperimentale in Velletri, with its large open spaces, its botanical garden and experimental vineyards.
The Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, the Hon., will open the event. Francesco Lollobrigida, together with the Regional Councilor for Agriculture and Budget, Giancarlo Righini, the ARSIAL Commissioner, Massimiliano Raffa and the President of CREA, Andrea Rocchi.
Wine and music tastings
During the three days of the Festival it will be possible to taste wines from all Italian and international regions. Particular attention will be paid to the wines of Lazio and its excellences. In this sense, there will be numerous tastings scheduled which will involve Lazio wines. A beautiful tasting guided by the title is scheduled for Saturday 29th “Lazio: wines, vines and territories” and on Friday 28th an amazing “blind” tasting entitled “Blind Tasting!”. An unmissable event that will introduce 5 of the greatest and most expensive wines in the world, also called fine wines or iconic wines, those wines that everyone talks about, but few have tasted, and among these, a wine from Lazio.
A one-of-a-kind sensorial experience which, without conditioning, will make you appreciate the sensorial nuances of timeless wines. The focus on Saturday 29 June was also very interesting, “The mystery of Cesanese” which will see producers, technicians and experts discuss the best-known native red grape variety in Lazio. Also on Saturday, the guided tasting will feature the Prosecco, the best-selling Italian wine in the world, told by those who produce it. This edition will also feature one of the most popular events: the
cigar and wine tasting which will be offered over two evenings. To Friday “Smoking…slow” where, paired with great wines, they will be smoked cigars from the Compagnia Toscana Cigariwhile on Saturday in Smoke on the…wine, the award-winning Ecuadorian cigar, Flor de Silva, will be paired with fine wines.
As always, the international dimension of the event will be guaranteed by the presence of the host country, which this year will be the United States of America with their wines. The opening tasting will be dedicated to the United States and will be introduced by Prof. Anthony Tamburriprofessor of clear international fame and among the most important scholars of Italian-American studies, professor of the City University of New York and dean of the John Calandra Institute.
Among the musical events on the calendar, worth mentioning is the one on Friday 28th scheduled with great jazz and the concert of the Briza Jazz Quintet, which will be opened by a traveling performance of the Trivium Gospel Experience. On Sunday 30 June the Italian-Canadian singer, Sarah Jane Ceccarelli, will be on stage with her Live Unplugged concert.
The great actor Gianmarco Tognazzi returns in an exhilarating and engaging Tognazza Situescion, with his stories and alcoholic thoughts, scheduled for Saturday 29th. There will be many cultural events in the three days of the event, worth mentioning is that of Sunday 30th June, in which Prof. Marco Nocca will be the protagonist in raising awareness of Basilio Magni’s work, “I vignaioli”, in a reading entitled “Poets drunk in the vineyard”. Also on Sunday, in a talk, Alessandro Pavan, economist and author of the book “Investing in fine wines: how to transform your passion into an investment
profitable”, will reveal the secrets of how to invest in the world of wine. There will be no shortage of scientific insights into the vineyard with “In vigna veritas”, on Saturday, a walk in the company of experts and researchers from CREA Viticoltura Enologia of Velletri and the ARSIAL Regional Agency for the development and innovation of agriculture in Lazi, in addition to the ” Plants tell”, an event full of curiosities, anecdotes and secrets of one of the most enchanting places in Velletri, the Experimental winery, curated by Fiorella Capozzi, scheduled for Sunday 30 June.
To accompany the glasses of wine, a pleasant and varied high-level gastronomic offer with American style barbecue, a stand offering fried fish in foil, cheese platters and a café and ice cream parlor space.
