Cecima (Pavia), 1 July 2024 – He lost a lot of blood, but after being transported by helicopter in red code to San Matteo he was immediately taken to operating room and even if the prognosis remains reserved, the risk of dying from blood loss seems to be overcome. A young butcher, only 23 years old, literally a sharp knife was stuck in the groinwith the deep wound that would have damaged the femoral artery, with the abundant loss of blood that prompted emergency medical services to be called with the utmost urgency.
The place
The accident at work occurred in a artisanal salami factory in Cecima, in the locality Cucchi Housewhile the young butcher apparently was busy slicing a pancetta. It was around 12:30 today, Monday 1 July, when the medical emergency services were called, initially alerted with a yellow code because the wound seemed less serious, but from the Areu operations centre several vehicles were sent to the site, not only a medical car and an ambulance but also a helicopter sent up from Alessandria.
Precisely because of the copious loss of blood, the helicopter rescue took the 23-year-old with the utmost urgency to the Policlinico Pavese. The Carabinieri, from the Voghera Company, and the ATS inspectors, competent for accidents at work, intervened on the spot to reconstruct the dynamics of the incident and ascertain any responsibilities.
