Madness on the motorway: boulders were thrown from the overpass at passing vehicles along the Bolognese section of the A1, not far from the Cantagallo service area. Some vehicles in transit that were hit by the stone throwing, including buses with Vasco Rossi fans on board returning from the concert held last night, Wednesday 19 June, at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium in San Siro. One of these buses carried people from Arezzo, who still had the spectacle of Zocca’s rocker in their eyes. “It looked like a bomb,” says one of the witnesses to the incident.

Sassi in A1, what happened

Suddenly in the early hours of today Thursday 20 June (it was around 3am) while the vehicle was traveling southbound, just before the Cantagallo rest area, there was an impact with a large stone which broke the windshield. There was the bang, the roar and the panic inside the vehicle, because it wasn’t immediately clear what had happened, some thought it was an explosion. Not only that, other vehicles would have been hit by other rocks, including another bus returning to Tuscany from Vasco Rossi’s concert. According to what was reported by witnesses, on board this second vehicle there was also a boy who was slightly injured in the calf. The traffic police intervened on the spot.
