First arrival at Vigevano 1955 ahead of the 2024/25 season. This is Çelis Taflaj, a twenty-six year old 201cm guard/winger, a native of Scutari, a cornerstone of the Albanian national team but trained in Italy. Raised as a basketball player in Montenegro, Taflaj arrived in our country in 2014, registered with the Pistoia youth team. He made his senior debut in the 2015/16 season with the Bottegone shirt, in Serie B. The first call to Serie A2 came the following season with the Viola Reggio Calabria shirt, then Treviglio and Cento, until the jump to Andrea Costa Imola and the subsequent transfer to Sicily. He then played a year at Orlandina and moved to Trapani, where he managed to produce 9.1 points per game, shooting 40% from three.
In 2022/23 he arrived in Turin, where the final for promotion to Serie A was played against Pistoia, doubling the numbers of the first phase in the second, 6.3 points on average in the 6 games played. Final that he also played in the season just ended with the Fortitudo Bologna shirt. He was called up to the Albanian national team for the first time seven years ago, standing out in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers, where he averaged 13.2 points. Taflaj will be presented to the press in the next few days.
