Greetings to customers, but there’s something new
Legnano – Those who stopped yesterday, Wednesday 19 June, at White Tobacco Bar in Corso Magenta in Legnano they had the opportunity to drink again”a good coffee” and to receive one last smile from Fiammetta and her family. For the historic bar, opened in Corso Magenta since 1979yesterday was the last day under “Bianchi” management, from Saturday 22 June: the change.
“I’m leaving but I’m at peace – says Fiammetta, however betrayed a little by emotion– I’m calm because, I think, I left a good memory with my customers.” It’s difficult to think otherwise, until the end, in fact, just the other day a lady addressed Fiammetta exactly like this: “thank you for your smile, it’s a rare thing now.”
The business had been opened in Legnano by Fiammetta’s grandparents: Pierangelo and Ester Bianchi who ran the place, a first change with the entry into the shop of their daughter, Nadia, passed away two years ago, and then to her granddaughter. From generation to generation, as used to be done in a Legnano that is little by little disappearing.
Legnano changes face. “The only regret, perhaps, was that I couldn’t continue. Managing a business today is a complicated thing, it takes a lot of people but, before Covid we were still able to do it, but after the pandemic, nothing has been the same as before: bureaucracy and costs that have become unmanageable are bending traders”. Hence the decision to leave. “Today and tomorrow (Thursday 20th and Friday 21st) we will be closed; then, from Saturday 22nd the new managers will reopen, a family of Chinese origins”. Future projects? “Not for the moment, for another month, you will find us here supporting the new owners“.
