There Dolomiti Energia Trentino has been confirmed in EuroCup and will take part in the ECA competition also next season. “This is the ninth participation in the tournament in eleven professional seasons. It is a recognition of our size. Last month I met Euroleague CEO Motiejunas and explained to him our plans for the future, including the idea of having a new sports hall. I can say that L’Aquila wants Europe and that Europe is attentive to L’Aquila“, comments the general manager Andrea Nardelli to the Corriere di Torino. “In two years we have brought four athletes to the Euroleague: Spagnolo, Flaccadori, Baldwin and Grazulis. I think this is significant. Without forgetting that we were chosen by young talents like Ellis and Niang. For the home match against Ulm we had eleven NBA franchises at the sports hall. The path we have chosen is clear: to focus on athletes who are still hungry to reach the top.”
We also talk about the market after the already official agreements with Jordan Bayehe and Andrea Pecchia among the Italians, Myles Cale among the foreigners. It’s also under contract Daulton Hommes, which however has an exit option exercisable by the end of the month for EuroLeague teams. “[Il nostro budget] increases every year thanks to large historical partners and the growth of medium and small ones. Without forgetting that we are shortly after mid-June and we already have seven players under contract: I think it has never happened before. Hommes? We would love to have him with us, I’m sure he looks great here. Daulton is an example of how important it is for L’Aquila to be in the Eurocup. If we didn’t have the cup it would be difficult to confirm it, now we have good hopes.”
