Messina: A new section of Via Don Blasco inaugurated

Only 15 percent is missing and then Messina will have a new road available to avoid city traffic. This morning the former Rifotras section of via Don Blasco was opened which will allow you to travel along the new artery from via Santa Cecilia to viale Gazzi.

Present at the ribbon cutting were the mayor Federico Basile and the deputy mayor Salvatore Mondello, to whom the mayor gave credit because it is “a particularly complex work – he said – which thanks to the commitment of the Administration, primarily of the deputy mayor Mondello, was able to see the light, giving the city a very precious artery, not only from a road point of view, but also for its commercial and tourist implications”.

“The last small section will be delivered shortly, which will give the city an excellent road alternative, as well as a real development driver, the positive effects of which will bring extraordinary benefits to our Messina” said Mondello. We will have to wait until March 2025 to be able to travel along it also from Via Santa Cecilia towards the north. The last way to resolve remains the demolition of the RFI viaduct and its replacement.
