Moments of tension yesterday afternoon, 18 June, in the car park of the Ipercoop in Foggia. A bald individual in his forties, wearing shorts and sneakers, attempted to carry out a theft using the slashed tire technique.
In fact, the thief acted just when the motorist got out of the car to check one of the punctured wheels shortly before. He took the victim’s purse with money, documents and other objects inside and fled amidst the owner’s screams: “To the thief, to the thief!”.
Pursued by the victim and evidently worried about the consequences, the criminal threw the bag on the ground and lost track of himself: “My husband was very shaken and scared, which is why I called the local police” says his wife.
Other motorists reportedly found the tires of their vehicles slashed.
However, it is not the first time that a similar incident has occurred in the city. In September last year, in these same columns, we reported the case of a motorist whose purse had been stolen in the car park of the MD supermarket in via Gioberti. On that occasion, according to the story of the victim’s daughter, the perpetrator of the theft, a grizzled man in his forties, had fled in a blue Fiat Panda.
