Fatal accident on Palermo Sciacca near Giacalone. Four people were traveling in a Fiat Punto. Three girls aged 23 to 20 and a 16 month old boy.
The victims are a 20-year-old girl Selma El Mouakit, and the 16-month-old Abd Rahim Gharsallah. Also on board the car were Miriam Janale, 23 years old, and Chiara Irmana, 21 years old. One of the two is in a reserved prognosis.
Investigations are underway and it appears that the girl driving had a blood alcohol level above the norm. The girls had spent the night in Palermo and were returning to Partinico.
The Palermo Sciacca state road is closed in both directions. The 118 health workers, the carabinieri and Anas staff intervened.
The 20-year-old girl and the little boy must have been seated in the front. Upon impact with the guard rail they flew out of the windshield. Rescuers found them outside the cockpit. For Selma El Mouakit, 20 years old, and the 16-month-old Abd Rahim Gharsallah, there was nothing that could be done. The child is not the son of the dead girl, but of one of the two young people who were injured. The findings and investigations are conducted by the Carabinieri of the Monreale company. The parents and relatives are being interviewed to try to reconstruct what happened. The result of the blood alcohol level found on the driver weighs heavily on the accident. It seems that this could be the cause of the car crashing into the barriers at around 3.30 am.
Mayor of San Giuseppe, a town in mourning

For reasons currently under investigation, he lost control of the two-wheeled vehicle he was traveling on, hitting the guardrail and being thrown onto the pavement. According to what we learn, no other vehicles were involved. The police are on site to investigate.
Yesterday a fatal accident in the Trapani area
Yesterday, however, a fatal accident occurred in the Trapani area. A woman died in the incident which occurred on the provincial road 51 Campobello di Mazara-Torretta Granitola, near the road that leads to the Kartibubbo tourist village.
The woman was on board a three-wheeler loaded with watermelons and driven by her nephew. According to an initial reconstruction, the vehicle made a risky maneuver and was dragged for a few tens of meters by a truck that was walking in its lane in the direction of Tre Fontane. The woman died instantly, while her nephew was rescued by 118 operators and transported, in very serious conditions, by air ambulance to Palermo. The Campobello traffic police and the Carabinieri intervened on site.
