After the seasons in Modena, he remained to live in the province and now coaches in the amateur categories: after last year’s experience at Athletic Cdr Mutina, his arrival on the bench of United Carpi was recently announced, where he will lead the team in the next Promotion championship. Our editorial team interviewed Beppe GreekModena striker from January 2011 to January 2013, with 20 goals scored in 59 appearances in the Canary shirt.

EXPERIENCES AS A COACH – “I have always liked coaching: I always had this idea for when I would stop playing. Even when I was on the pitch I liked to give advice or see from the other side the situations that could be created. Now I’m just starting out, so I still have tons to learn. Regarding last season at Cdr Mutina, we started with a team that in my opinion could do much more than what it did. Years don’t always go as one might predict: between injuries and other vicissitudes, the season did not reflect the conditions we set ourselves at the beginning of the season. I just have to thank the Cdr because it has given me the opportunity in these three years to begin a career as a coach that I have always wanted to undertake. You can’t get along with everyone: after a few different viewings, I decided to stay at home. Above all, I thank director Malavolta who introduced me to this new role as coach. United Carpi? He contacted me and immediately made a wonderful impression on me. It’s a club that has the right structures to be able to hold a championship to have fun and have our say. Structures are essential to be able to work in the best possible way. It’s a healthy and serious club, which doesn’t waste money but makes mindful operations trying to bring players into the squad who are functional to our vision. All the components are there to be able to do well: I am a coach who likes to have fun and try to make the boys have fun during training and in matches. We must also try to combine the results with this. I can not wait to start. Objective? Let’s start by aiming mainly for a peaceful salvation, then what comes in addition is certainly all gained. United Carpi is a club that has always played in important championships: this year, between the change of coach and the reconstruction of the team, it will be a bit of an unknown for everyone.”

MISTER BISOLI – “With Mr. Bisoli I was in Cesena, where we won the Serie B championship and achieved promotion to Serie A. I spent six months with him, because that year I arrived in Cesena in the winter transfer market: before being a coach, he is a fantastic person. He demands a lot from every point of view, but he also gives a lot: he gives his all. I can only speak well of him: the players who play for him would throw themselves into the fire for him. He tends to make all the players give their all: in Modena I think he will do very well. Modena is an important place that demands a lot and he is a coach who will give a lot to this place. He asks for the soul of the players, he wants players who “spit blood” from start to finish, in games and during training. He demands a lot, but defends his players in all circumstances. He puts himself in front of everyone to defend his players: they are his children. He will look for players suited to his requests.”

LAST SEASON – “Last year I followed Modena: for me this city is now a second home and I remained a fan. This year the yellows certainly started well, then they had a decline. Serie B is a very difficult, long and tiring championship: there can be years where in the first round a team is among the top four and in the second round risks making the play-outs. Modena were not constant during the championship: in terms of squad there were some shortcomings, perhaps they would have needed a striker who was able to have more continuity from a scoring point of view. At a certain point in the championship the team had lost the focus of the season a bit, then with the change of coach the step was taken to reach salvation. It was a somewhat anomalous championship from the point of view of results: there was a bit too much up and down.”

NEXT SEASON – “In my opinion next season will be different. For the club it has now, I think Modena is a place that must aspire to fight for the top positions in the Serie B table. The club is doing an excellent job and there will also be a new sports center soon. The foundations are being laid to build something important. In my opinion, Modena will be a candidate to fight for important goals in the coming years.”

THE EXPERIENCE AS A FOOTBALLER AT MODENA AND THE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SQUARE – “Modena is a city where I really enjoyed myself as a footballer for two years. It’s a square that makes you feel the warmth, the stadium was always full, the fans were very attached to the players and the team. It is a place that asks a lot, but at the same time gives a lot. I was lucky enough to play in Modena and then settle here. Even now I meet fans who greet me and who remember when I played and it’s absolutely a great feeling. In Modena we live well and live well: I’m lucky enough to raise my daughters here and I’m very happy about this.”
