In the meeting of 17 June 2024, the Regional Council resolved to allocate further funds to be allocated to the tender for the design and construction of green and blue infrastructures in urban and peri-urban areas, financed with European resources from the 2021-2027 ERDF regional programme, with the aims to strengthen the protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reduce all forms of pollution.
This is a figure of approximately 2,500,000 euros which will allow the list of projects admitted so far to be scrolled, which in this way becomes a total of 20. Added to the 17 previously financed are the project of Municipality of Gambettola (FC) which involves the regeneration of a green area, partly used for the new school building, with the creation of a cycle/pedestrian ring along the Rio Rigoncello, bordered by tree and shrub species (contribution 729,264 euros); the redevelopment project of theBotanical Garden of Bologna, presented by the University of Bologna, which includes, among other things, the strengthening of the tree and shrub landscape with the planting of 112 new trees (contribution 1,418,522.18 euros). Finally, the project of Municipality of Calendasco (PC) which proposes the redevelopment of three green areas and the de-concreting of built spaces to return them to naturalness (contribution 264,326.29 euros).
The three new interventions concern an area of approximately 7.50 hectares which, added to the interventions already financed, involve a total of over 236 hectares. The total contribution allocated is instead of 23,875,115 euros, over 5 million more than the budget foreseen by the tender, initially equal to 18,000,000 euros. The creation of green and blue infrastructure is one of the operations of strategic importance (OIS) for the PR Fesr 2021-2027, and provides a fundamental contribution to achieving the objectives of the program.
