Two years after the creation of the “IN SQUADRA ANCH’IO” Fund, a project aimed at supporting and including young people in sport, conceived by the Fondazione Comunità Novarese in collaboration with the Municipality of Novara and ASD Polisportiva San Giacomo, over 120 minors have been welcomed by 14 sports associations, with the entry of new partners into the network and increasingly effective work on inclusion and participation.
The values of sport and the importance of sporting activity
It is well known that sport has a fundamental social role: it is a tool for education and transmission of positive values, a vehicle for inclusion, participation and aggregation, a bringer of psycho-physical well-being and the prevention of all forms of discrimination.
The birth of the solidarity fund
To address the problem that can very often arise for reasons of family fragility or lack of resources, the “IN SQUADRA ANCH’IO” Solidarity Fund was born in 2022, on the initiative of ASD Polisportiva San Giacomo, promoted by the Fondazione Comunità Novarese in collaboration with the Municipality of Novara. This is a fundamental contribution since many young and very young people would be excluded from practicing sports if the various Novara sports associations did not welcome them, providing the service free of charge to help them.
Sport as inclusion and development

Playing sport allows you to experiment with group dynamics, supports the development processes of motor, cognitive and relational skills and keeps you away from other potentially dangerous environments. With the Fund and the network of individuals that has been created around it, we have the opportunity to offer an experience of growth and life to those who, otherwise, would not be able to do so.”
