The city secretariats and the advisory groups of the Italian Republican Party and the House of Moderates, meeting together, reiterate the centrality and importance of the program which determined the victory of this coalition and of the mayor Giuseppe Marchionna in the last local elections.

Brindisi has suffered from many problems for too long and is currently in a moment of epochal turning point.

The crisis of the industrial sector, the efficiency of social services and the waste collection service, urban decoration, the coastal plan, the PUG, the adoption of the Housing Plan, the due attention to environmental issues were, are and they will be the exclusive objectives of our political action.

We have had the opportunity to state this publicly in recent days, entrusting the appropriate solutions into the hands of the Mayor, in order to restore Brindisi to the dignity it deserves.

The PRI and the House of Moderates believe that this must pass through a moment of reflection that recognizes the primacy of politics, compared to assessments of individuals and the personalization of problems.

For these reasons and in the exclusive interest of the community, with a great sense of responsibility, we have decided, with a view to overcoming this phase of reflection, typical of democratic confrontation between political forces, to accept the positions expressed in recent days by the council groups majority, entrusting the mayor with the role of guarantor between them and the political parties of this majority.
