Claims to be the unacknowledged daughter of Lamborghini, acquitted of defamation with an all-Forlì defense team

There was a legal and investigative team completely branded Forlì behind the victory, in court in Bologna, of Flavia Borzone – the 36-year-old Neapolitan who declared herself the daughter of Tonino Lamborghini, heir of the founder of the car company of the same name Ferrucci – acquitted of the accusation of defamation against the entrepreneur. Judge Anna Fiocchi instead sentenced her mother, 63-year-old Rosalba Colosimo, to pay a fine of one thousand euros, with the sentence suspended on conditional terms. A judicial case, but also a media one, considering the notoriety of the Lamborghini family and the involvement of the singer and showgirl Elettra Lamborghini.

The lawyers Gian Maria Romanello, Carlo Zauli and Sergio Culiersi, the latter a former police director and local politician (he ran in the last municipal elections in the ranks of Forza Italia), defended the two women. The sentence came after a proceeding that lasted almost a year and a deliberation lasting over an hour. Judge Fiocchi only partially accepted the requests of the prosecutor’s office and the lawyers of the two women, who had requested acquittal for mother and daughter because the evidence was uncertain and contradictory. “For our part, we note the importance that three lawyers from the Forlì and Ravenna courts successfully managed to replace a previous defense team on the fly, with intense defensive activity, providing evidence, testimonies and documentation”, explains Culiersi.

As BolognaToday explains, Flavia Borzone and her mother ended up on trial for two different interviews, given in 2019, to the weekly magazine Nuovo and to Barbara D’Urso’s program, for some considerations on the lack of recognition by the entrepreneur. In their defence, mother and daughter would not have used tones that were harmful to the dignity and honor of Tonino Lamborghini. Thesis also shared by the prosecutor’s office.

However, the question of Borzone’s paternity was central to the defamation case. In fact, during their arguments, the Forlì lawyers of mother and daughter cited some testimonies collected during the defense investigations, including that of the 36-year-old’s maternal aunt, from which it emerged that Tonino Lamborghini would always have known that Flavia was his daughter. Furthermore, according to the defenders of the two women, the entrepreneur also offered to financially support Flavia Borzone even though he did not want to recognize her.

During the proceedings, the mother and daughter’s lawyers also presented a DNA test from which it emerged that the 36-year-old was the sister of Elettra Lamborghini, Tonino’s second-born and most famous daughter. A private investigator had collected a straw thrown away by Elettra, which was then analyzed by a professor from the University of Ferrara. The test revealed a “unilateral sisterhood” between the two girls. For his part, the entrepreneur, who was not present in the courtroom today, and his lawyer Mauro Bernardini had immediately contested this evidence, stating that Elettra’s DNA had been taken illegally.

“This is the first of a series of victories”, said Flavia Borzone after the sentence, while the mother, with a touch of emotion, underlined her satisfaction for her daughter’s acquittal but added, with a touch of bitterness , that “time is a gentleman”. The reasons will be filed within 90 days and it is not excluded that Rosalba Colosimo’s lawyers will challenge the decision on appeal.

In civil proceedings, mother and daughter were sentenced to pay compensation of 30 thousand euros for the same statements which also ended up at the center of the criminal trial. Decision that was challenged by their defense. Furthermore, a proceeding is still pending before the Court of Appeal of Naples for the denial of paternity brought by Flavia Borzone against her mother’s husband and a parallel lawsuit for a possible recognition of paternity by Tonino Lamborghini, who for now It’s in its early stages.
