Finale Emilia: relive the Renaissance with the 27th edition of Finalestense

On the weekend from 21st to 23rd June, Finale Emilia returns to breathe – for the 27th time – the air of the Renaissance and relive the era of the Este dominion.

The 2024 edition is dedicated to the “1539 Annus Mirabils”, around which all the initiatives, shows and games will branch out which make Finalestense a unique event of its kind capable of involving and exciting adults, teenagers and children: the Palio delle Circles, itinerant theater companies, musical groups, artisan markets, taverns with their menus full of historical dishes, create a truly magical atmosphere.

“By naming the event after 1539 – explains the Councilor for Culture, Elisa Cavallini – we wanted to celebrate the reopening of the Cathedral, which took place a few weeks ago. In that year, in fact, the renovation work on the main church resumed after some time. A little celebrated date, but very important for Finale, because it marked a restart: the city in fact expanded in those years, demolishing the walls and incorporating various suburbs into its urban ring. Even today we start again from the rebuilt Cathedral which opens towards the city and its community. And Finalestense, on the other hand, starts again from that 1539 to celebrate three absolutely extraordinary days, once again in the name of the house of Este”.
