In view of June 22nd, Saturday, we can only hope that the weather will be favorable and ensure sun and heat, indispensable conditions for the first summer dip in the swimming pool, at the facility in via Manara which will reopen its outdoor space on Saturday . Posters announcing the restart have also appeared around the city. The city “sea” to the joy of the many visitors who in the last year have had to deal with a problematic situation determined by the management of the Spanish company with which the due to non-compliance, the municipal administration terminated the contract early and in recent days it is undergoing the final interventions necessary to restart the activity respecting the scheduled date, June 22nd.
Since June 1st there has been a new manager, the Aquamore company, determined to relaunch the Bustese structure as it deserves, the first important signal is precisely the reopening of the summer space, followed on June 24th by the start of the “summer camp” for children.
Everything must be in place by Saturday, but in order to start the summer season, various maintenance works were necessary, for a total expense of 83 thousand euros, for which at the end of May the city council approved the ratification of the budget change emergency, useful for the arrangement of the external area of the Manara swimming pool and other small interventions on the structure. The works, started immediately and paid for by the Municipality, given that the outgoing manager did not take action, involved the revision or replacement of the pumps, the sanitization of the filters, the repair of the covering sheet, the general cleaning, the replacement of tiles, for a total of 83 thousand euros including the arrangement of the green area. The urgency of the measure was dictated precisely by the need to carry out the interventions in time for the summer opening and to not deprive citizens of an essential service.
After an inspection in recent days, other needs emerged, therefore the council approved an urgent change of 40 thousand euros for other interventions, including the renewal of the external furniture, with new umbrellas and sunbeds. The aim is to inaugurate the summer season and at the same time relaunch the facility on Saturday 22 June. “We are working tirelessly to respect the date – confirms Sports Councilor Maurizio Artusa. The covered part, also improved, will reopen in September”.
