There will be 1,613 young Calabriansaged between between 14 and 24 years oldto benefit from the voucher of 500 euros for sports practicethanks to’‘Calabria for Youth’ initiative promoted by the Region in collaboration with the Sports and Health Society.
The Vice President of the Calabria Region with responsibility for sport, Giusi Princiannounced that the list of beneficiaries has been published on the website www.sportesalute.eu.
The voucher will allow young people to practice sports and physical activity at the 676 amateur sports associations and clubs in Calabria who have joined the project. The Calabria Region has allocated 894 thousand euros to encourage the active participation of young Calabrians in sports disciplines, with a total of 1,434 courses offered.
Giusi Prince stressed the importance of the project for bring young people closer to sport, overcoming barriers to access and promoting a healthier and sportier Calabria. The great adhesion to the project, with 9,818 total requests and 4,096 eligible applicationstestifies to the strong demand for sport among young Calabrians.
The Vice President thanked the Calabrian sports associations and clubs, as well as the staff of the regional Education department, for their contribution to the success of the initiative. The goal is to make Calabria more sporty and healthy, counting on the support of Sport e Salute for the development of sport at a national level.
