The hoteliers’ meeting took place on a neutral ground: the Apa headquarters in Piazzale della Libertà. Only one stepped forward to be president after the resignation of Paolo Costantini of the Astoria hotel. Marco Filippetti, who was already part of the board of directors of this association, rises to the top and will continue for a year. Marco Filippetti is the son of Nardo, owner of the Lindbergh group which, in addition to the Excelsior, includes the Nautilus and the Charlie hotel.
All other members of the Apa remain in place. All the councilors attended the meeting, except for two who were blocked due to work commitments: Claudio Casoli from the Flying hotel in Viale Verdi, who in addition to the hotel also manages the beach opposite, and Lucia Signorini from the Bellevue hotel. The others all present: Fabrizio Oliva of Caravelle, Roberto Signorini of Imperial Sport, Paolo Pedini of Napoleon, Vanessa Gasparini of Clipper, Loredana Ceccarelli of the Hotel delle Nazioni, Paolo Costantini of Astoria, then Romina Cinciarini of De Bains and Embassy and Atlantic’s Matteo Buscaglia.
Marco Filippetti, who is now only waiting for the meeting of all members scheduled for the 26th, that is in eight days, will remain in office until October next year. Before electing him, all the councilors expressed their thanks for the work carried out by the resigning Paolo Costantini who resigned from office because criticism had been raised about him regarding the management of the perennial confrontation with the municipal administration on well-known and never-before-seen issues. solved: management of the tourist season, furnishings and so on “even if there it’s like hitting a brick wall, because they always say yes yes, but then they don’t do anything”, says an associate, mitigating the criticism rained down on Costantini.
In any case, Marco Filippetti is the only one who put his face to it because no one came forward, but his name had been circulating for a few days. “We know him because he always intervened in the meetings – says vice president Loredana Ceccarelli – and his ideas and professionalism were always appreciated by everyone and he was therefore elected unanimously”.
“In these days, that is, until the assembly on the 26th where all the members will have to confirm me – says Marco Filippetti –, I will collaborate with Paolo Costantini for the handover. It is our intention to collaborate with the administration in order to make this city become increasingly touristy and international. So as soon as possible we will discuss with the new mayor or whoever for him, to start this process because our association wants to support the administration in dealing with the problems happy with this new commitment.”
Among the curiosities of this association which has around fifty members, the absence from all the bodies, despite being an associate, of Nani Marcucci Pinoli who is the owner of three structures: the Vittoria hotel, the Alexander and therefore the Savoy in Avenue of the Republic.
