Books for everyone, without barriers and without limits, to give a voice to those who don’t have one. The “Inbook Books for All” exhibition was inaugurated on Monday afternoon at the headquarters of the Order of Health Professions, a project promoted bythe “Paino-Gravitelli” comprehensive institute, in collaboration with the Suprazonal Center for Augmentative Communication of Milan and Verdello and the library network.

Until June 28th, various Inbooks, children’s literature books translated into symbols to broaden access to texts and support linguistic understanding in children with communication disabilities, will be on display and available for consultation at the Via Garibaldi headquarters.
With the aim of promoting reading without barriers, the Order of Health Professions of Messina has opened its doors to the project “Inbook. Books for everyone” and the exhibition can be visited for free every day from 5pm to 6.30pm, while on Thursday 27th, at 5.30pm, two speech therapists involved in the project will hold an Inbook reading aloud workshop for children.

The initiative was presented to the citizens in connection with the representatives of the Augmentative Communication Center of Milan and the appeal of Francesco Saporitoan accountant from Patti, suffering from ALS, who found an opportunity to express himself in augmentative communication and has since dedicated himself to the mission of promoting writing and reading for everyone.

During the inauguration of the exhibition, a plaque was presented to the family and friends of Francesco Saporito, whose battle was told through a video and the words of thehis sister Antonella and his friend Alessandro Greco.

“The Order of Health Professions – they declared in unison the president Giuseppe Morabito and the vice-president Patrizia Longo – immediately decided to embrace this initiative, fully aware of how important it is to raise awareness and promote inclusion and culture among our professionals and citizens, putting our skills at the service of the community”.
