An important premise is that of the sole director of the former Metro Srl, a subsidiary of the Municipality of Lucca, currently Lucca Plus. The name change, approved by the Municipality and Lucca Holding, aims to make the service company more identifiable and in step with the their current tasks and future goals. But the “plus” does not mean increases in sight…

“No changes, neither for parking season ticket holders nor for ZTL pass holders – underlines Roberto Di Grazia –. The new company name will replace the previous one automatically and absolutely free of charge.” And it will not bring with it any other changes in the contents and mission of the company. “We immediately paid great attention to the investee companies – declared the mayor Mario Pardini, accompanied by the councilors Mia Pisano, Remo Santini and Nicola Buchignani – and this evolution of Metro Srl into Lucca Plus goes in this direction. It is not just a change of name, but a real change of pace, as has happened to many other municipal entities. There are many new attributions to this company and the signals that are coming are encouraging, to take on new and increasingly demanding challenges”.

The change is based on the fact that Metro has expanded its tasks in recent years, supporting the Municipality of Lucca not only in parking and tourist information, but by directly managing the civic towers, the ticket office of the Botanical Garden and in the reopening of Palazzo Guinigi. Added to this was the management of parking during Comics and Summer Festivals, as well as operational support for municipal events. But there is also a qui pro quo that is clarified in this way: how many phoned asking the price of the hams or if the last offer was still valid, confusing Metro car parks with Metro food wholesale.

“In these two years of mandate – comments Di Grazia, director of the company – Metro has invested important resources in the technological updating of car parks, in the optimized management of large events, in the direct management of ticket offices and cultural containers, in ordinary and extraordinary maintenance. The change of company name to Lucca Plus, graphically created by the Lucca-based studio QZR of Lucca, and inspired by the Walls will facilitate the identification of the company’s services”.
