Messina’s official reply to Ettore Minore’s letter, in which the entrepreneur of Palermo origins announced the halt to negotiations, was not long in coming. Below is the statement from the Peloritan club.
In relation to the negotiation started with the potential buyer of Palermo origins, it should be noted that the ACR Messina did not consider the “less Chinese consortium” suitable to give continuity, in the interests of Messina, to the sports project started 7 years ago by president Pietro Sciotto. It was deemed that suitable guarantees were not offered for the agreed amount, which was to be paid in installments. It is false that Messina has a significant debt mass, as stated; proof of this is that in 7 championships Pietro Sciotto’s Messina has never suffered any penalty points. Contrary to what Minore himself declared in an open letter, published by some press outlets, there was no change of heart on Pietro Sciotto’s part. The negotiation continued in the utmost confidentiality until Minore himself decided to make statements to the local press. After the failed negotiations to take over Grosseto, Viterbese, Sambenedettese, Marsala and Trapani, Minore will now be able to enrich his professional curriculum with the name of Messina.
