The Music Festival returns to Riva del Garda on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd June, an event that celebrates the beginning of summer in the spirit of free music throughout Europe.
On 21 June 1982, across France, on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, amateur and professional musicians invaded streets, courtyards, squares, gardens, stations and museums. A few years and the Music Festival becomes an authentic social phenomenon. Since 1985, the European Year of Music, it has taken place throughout Europe and in various places around the world: live music concerts take place in many cities, mainly in the open air, with the participation of musicians of all levels and of all genres. Free concerts, value of the musical gesture, spontaneity, availability, curiosity, all music belongs to the Festival.
To avoid overlapping with the Arco Music Festival, in Riva del Garda the bulk of the program will be on Saturday 22 June. There are eight locations: Palazzo Martini, internal courtyard of the Rocca, Parco della Rocca, Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza Cavour, Sabbioni beach, Craffonara square and the Conservatory auditorium. Fifteen performances.
There will be two events on Friday 21st: at 5pm at Palazzo Martini the concert “Music with strings and strings” by the Amici della Musica association, with Giovanna Trentini on the cello and Rosa Toller on the guitar and readings by the “Il tea delle lecchiere” group; and at 8.30 pm in the courtyard of the Rocca (in case of rain in the Conservatory auditorium) “The first notes of summer”, concert by the young people of the FA Bonporti Conservatory.
On Saturday 22nd June from 6pm to 11pm in Piazza delle Erbe there is the Scuola Musicale Alto Garda with a piano marathon, the Improvvisata Jazz orchestra and the voices at the Opera. From 7.30 pm to midnight in the Rocca park the Sonà association proposes “Rock in Rocca. Sonà Jubilee 25the”: The Uncles (acoustic rock, Rovereto), Lukas (funky blues, Bolzano), The Refounders (rock’n’roll and blues, Turin), The Virgin (rock, Rovereto) and Backseat boogie (rockabilly, Milan ). In Piazzetta Craffonara at 7pm the FA Bonporti Conservatory proposes “Romantic Mantics. From Vivaldi to Piazzolla”: Nadezhda Nesterova, soprano; Aurora Salvetti, flute; accordion quartet Marco Salvetti, Martin Klemm, Matteo Trentini, Jacopo Zendri; Andrea Ruocco, double bass; Maestro Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi directs. From 8pm to 9.30pm on the Sabbioni beach the Riva del Garda band, the Arte delle Muse and the Orchestra delle Metamorfosi propose “InfraSuoni on Stage. From the rehearsal room to the live adventure”, final concert of the InfraSuoni project. At 8.30 pm in the auditorium of the “Il piano romano” conservatory, piano teachers Francesca Carola and David Peroni will perform in concert. At 9pm in Piazza Cavour the Musica Riva association proposes “Recital! The golden age of piano playing”, with Leo Michibata on the piano performing music by Bach, Beethoven and Schumann. The conclusion is at the Sabbioni beach with the Beach Party organized by the cultural associations Mercurio and Il Buco.
