Viterbo – We receive and publish – Viterbo and its province are ready to welcome the first weekend of artistic craftsmanship of the Lazio Artigiana association, the supply chain network that is part of the Cna which unites and celebrates the artistic excellence of 45 local artisans in 5 craft weekends , 9 appointments with guided tours and 4 visits to the shop from March to November, excluding August.
From 21st to 23rd June the first of the five craft weekends will begin with events, music, laboratories and workshops, aimed at enhancing the cultural heritage of the crafts of the past, showcasing talent, creativity and imagination in their natural environment , and enhancing the identity resources of the territory.
At the same time, the first artistic craftsmanship hub in Viterbo will be inaugurated: the initiative, an absolute novelty in Lazio, combines tourism and art, and aims to perpetually highlight the precious manual treasures of the area.
Thanks to the funding of the Lazio region for business networks between economic activities Dgr n.68/2022, Lazio Artigiana – with the opening of the first artistic artisan hub in the region – aims to extend the visibility of the workshops to everything the regional territory, combining the permanent exhibition with the sale of handmade products: from finely bound books, to elegant ceramics, from original carpentry objects, expertly restored, to leather products, vegetable jewels and glass works.
Within the spaces acquired by the Cna in via dell’Orologio Vecchio 5-7, the participating artisans will show their products, host demonstrations, workshops and hold training courses and seminars to immerse all participants in the history and culture of territory in an innovative dialogue between experiential tourism and valorisation of the mastery of Tuscia and the Lazio coast with Civitavecchia and Ladispoli.
The initiative aims to intertwine the very rich artisan heritage with the dynamic tourism sector to involve an increasingly wider audience, both national and international.
“An innovative tourism offer created through the alliance between an experienced DMC like PromoTuscia and a team of local artisans, true interpreters of the Genius Loci of Lazio, can make the difference in terms of development – comments Ivana Pagliara, founder of PromoTuscia -. The essential aspect is that it is a real system, not sporadic actions: the Hub in the historic center of Viterbo is a real garrison of Lazio Artigiana, testimony to a lively and constant presence”.
Alessio Gismondi, president of Cna Viterbo and Civitavecchia, expressed great enthusiasm for the initiative to promote and enhance the workers participating in the project, inviting everyone to continue on the path of concrete actions to support local craftsmanship: “While all that is done is speak, the Cna craftsmen do the facts”.
Since the beginning, Lazio Artigiana, the network of artistic craftsmanship businesses in Italy led by Cna Viterbo and Civitavecchia, supported by PromoTuscia in the organizational part, has received numerous approvals, recording a boom in bookings for tours, all completely free, in Viterbo , Tuscania and Caprarola between March and May.
From June to October the guided tours combined with the shops will be held in Tuscania, Tarquinia, Acquapendente, Montefiascone and Bolsena as well as events in local cities such as Civitavecchia in a rich journey created to celebrate and rediscover the emotion of holding a unique object in its exceptionality, and at the same time get to know the historic villages of Tuscia.
