Forlì, 18 June 2024 – Started yesterday morning, with investigations to identify any war devicesthe operations that will lead to the construction of the new elementary and middle school of Sixth Imola.
“These works, authorized by the Army department and the Archaeological Superintendency, will be completed approximately within a month – explains the manager of the Municipality’s land management and development area, Alessandro Bettio –. Once the investigations have been completed and the authorizations have been acquired, excavations can begin to build the foundation of the new school”.
The execution of the works is entrusted to the Imola company Paolucci Constructionwhile the design part was entrusted to the engineering company Limes di Casalecchio di Reno. The overall investment for the construction of the new school in Sesto Imolese amounts to a total of five million. This amount is financed with two million from the Pnrr and the remaining part by the Municipality through its own resources. It is expected that the works will be completed, as per the award, within 540 days from the start, i.e. at the beginning of 2026. “It is a source of pride and satisfaction for us to confirm this path for an important and heartfelt commitment – say the mayor Marco Panieri and the councilor for public works, Pierangelo Raffini – which we had assumed as an Administration both towards the fraction during the participatory process and with the city during the 2020 electoral campaign”.
There future school of Sesto will arise in a position closest to the sports field, compared to the current building. The new complex will be built first, then the current one will be demolished, in order to allow students to remain in the school during the work on the new building and not have to be transferred to other locations. The only part of the current complex that will be maintained is the one that now houses the canteen, which was built in 2010 and which will be connected to the new building.
Once the operation is completed, the new buildingwhich will extend over a total area of approximately 1,800 square metres, equally distributed over two floors, with the primary on the ground floor and the secondary on the first floor, will have a ‘C’-shaped plan.
Therefore, the public entrance to the plexus moves from via San Vitale, where it is today, to the closed road leading to the sports area near the gym. The current parking lot will be doubled. The entrance to the new school is located inside the ‘C’, a space that is a sort of square that extends towards the road and can be reached by walking along the outline of the canteen, from a pedestrian path inside the school area. “When the school is renewed, the whole community grows – adds the deputy mayor and school councillor, Fabrizio Castellari –. It is a fundamental garrison of the community and confirms itself as an engine of training, culture, growth and development for the entire community, a place of aggregation even beyond the canonical opening hours”.
