There is a strong concern on the numbers front critical issues do not only concern the retirements of healthcare personnel but rather the shortage that already exists today, also to implement the measures envisaged by the Pnrr. The plan envisages, in fact, the activation of new healthcare facilities, as well as the strengthening of home care.
The implementation will lead to additional needs – estimated at a percentage of between 5 and 7% of nurses, health and social workers (Oss) and rehabilitation workers, in addition to that resulting from retirement leavers. Here an agreement was approved between Opera Armida Barelli And Saint Joseph the Worker Vocational School of Reeschen in Albaniawhich issues a professional high school diploma in the sector of services to the elderly.
“This resolution seeks to make the path to obtaining the OSS qualification certificate in Trentino more streamlined for students who have already graduated from the School in Albania”, comments thecouncilor Mario Tonina. “Although there have been over 7 thousand operators in the provincial territory who have obtained the OSS qualification certificate in recent years, the need continues to be high, especially in the APSP, as well as in the social welfare and home services sector. And In perspective, this need is destined to increase following the aging of the population and the increase in multimorbidity and chronicity”.
To achieve the training standards required by the OSS professional profile, interested students will be able to support the exam to obtain the qualification certificateafter positive attendance at the Opera Armida Barelli of specific theoretical modules and carrying out in local structures of at least 50% of the internship provided for by the teaching regulations of the provincial course.
To meet the growing demand for OSS training, the provincial planning (three-year plan for the training of provincial health system operators 2023/2026) has provided for the provision of continuous courses in authorized training institutionsi.e. the provincial company for health services and Opera Armida Barelli.
“Moreover, measures have been active for years with the aim of facilitate participation in training such as differentiated time schedules, respecting the number of hours, activations of peripheral officesas well as allowing, in specific cases, the obtaining the qualification certificate more quicklythrough the recognition of training credits by the teaching bodies of the course, or through the attendance of reduced training courses defined by the Council for those who have a professional title/contractual classification (Ota, Osa auxiliary), to which an affinity is recognized of the relevant training path with respect to the OSS educational system”, concludes Tonina.
