A new stage for “Visioni Sarde”, the film festival featuring the works of island directors.
On Friday 21 June from 5.30 pm the short films will be screened in Campobasso, at the municipal library and media library in via Roma 43, on the initiative of the Dante Alighieri committee chaired by Angioletta Iavasile. Presents Adele Giordano.
The films featured in the event are:
“Hooded, Foschi”. Clotilde and Mondino are driving towards Nuoro, where they have to deliver a car belonging to Mondino’s employer. But during the journey, along dark and treacherous roads, they encounter a group of bandits and kidnappers, coming face to face with a terrifying reality. Nicola Camoglio, director, screenwriter and producer based in Gothenburg, Sweden, has been working in the cinematographic field since 2019 between Italy and Sweden. “Incappucciati, Foschi” is his most recent production while two other works are in pre-production, including one in virtual reality;
“Tilipirche”. In a small village in the heart of Sardinia, a terrible invasion of locusts occurs. A breeder must face the passing of the baton between father and son. Francesco Piras is a professional director. He has made several short films, including “Il nostri concerto” and “Mammarranca” which earned him international recognition including the nomination for the David di Donatello and the selection for the Nastri d’Argento; both have been awarded in previous editions of Visioni sarde. “Tilipirche” offers a reflection on the strength of nature and the courage of man;
“Dahlia”. Sara is found unconscious in the woods. It is the most difficult case that Dalia, a child psychologist, has to work on. The film was awarded a screenplay award at the Golden Femi Film Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria. Joe Juanne Piras has worked as a director in several experimental projects, short films and documentaries. He is currently working on the production of his first feature film of which “Dalia” is a spin-off;
“What’s Mine”. Four terminally ill patients travel across a rural landscape, armed to the teeth, carrying out one robbery after another. They are friends, colleagues: former soldiers sick on mission. They will have to overcome their limits and their fears to be able to give strength and dignity to their last days. Gianni Cesaraccio has been working in the cinematographic field for several years and his works as director and screenwriter have received important recognitions, such as Visioni Italiane and Giffoni Film Festival. “What is mine”, a film that makes us reflect on what we leave to the world, has just won the audience award for Best Short Film at the Malaga Italian Film Festival;
“Free beach”. On a deserted beach, between the sound of the waves and the sunlight, Roberto and Matilde spend a seemingly peaceful summer day between father and daughter, until a generational confrontation begins. Ludovica Zedda is a screenwriter and director. She became passionate about cinema as a child and specialized with her school and university studies. “Spiaggia libera” was created thanks to a fundraiser;
“Down with Giuali”. Two very different cousins: one clean and tidy, the other dirty and irreverent. The two, playing, find a way to go beyond appearances. Michela Anedda, director, writer and stop motion animator, studied in Cagliari and specialized in Edinburgh. “Giù cun Giuali” is the third episode of “Faulas”, an animated TV series based on the popular wisdom of minority languages which arises from a personal visual research on traditional sayings and on the rhetorical figures with which popular language is expressed.
