BASKETBALL COLLEGE GOLD UNDER19 ON THE NATIONAL PODIUM!

Novara – The pride of the team led by president Del Conte in having reached the national podium (!) in the Under 19 Gold finals, which took place last weekend in Cecina (Livorno). A unique, fantastic and extraordinary experience for the boys of Basket College Novara, capable of ‘bowing’ only to Stella Azzurra Roma, who then clearly won in the final against Faenza 95-59. The Novara quintet led by coach Cassina in the ‘final’ for 3rd-4th place got the better of Curtatone (Mantua) from Lombardy at the end of a very entertaining match.

The report of the match (from the official FIP website): “The match seems to have already been closed at 12 all, before the torrential 31-3 with which Novara decisively distances itself (43-15), sending the many fans who flocked to Cecina into raptures and is seriously aiming for third place at the Under 19 Gold National Finals. At halftime it was 46-27 but in the second 20 minutes Curtatone demonstrated once again that in basketball and even more so at youth level the last word is never said. Coach Romero’s team manages to get back in touch, scaring College Basket at -5 with 3′ left. Novara is not dismayed, holds up in the moment of maximum effort of the opponents and in the end takes it home thanks to the 5-0 achieved by Brustia and Caligaris. The best scorer for the Piedmontese is Pagani with 22 points, Zocca (15) and Giacomelli (14) also in double figures. Aguirrezabala’s 25, Peralta’s 17 and Pires’ 14 are not enough for Curtatone”.

We congratulate our boys, the technical staff and the managers for the great work done. Furthermore, we celebrate a nomination that fills us with even more pride: Nicolò Pagani from Novara has in fact been included in the ideal quintet of these finals: a certificate of immense esteem and recognition of the great work done by the boy and by the entire Basket College environment Novara.

And now a few days of vacation, but with my mind already turned to the next championship and the next commitments. Objective: to confirm and perhaps improve this ‘podium’ which means so much for the Novara basketball movement and beyond.
