African wave from Wednesday in Calabria with scorching temperatures up to 40 degrees, the forecast for the week

After a weekend characterized by somewhat variable weather due to large cloud cover and temperatures still more or less pleasant, summer will raise its voice in the next few days. In fact, the arrival of an intense call of hot air from the South is expected which will cause the thermometer to rise significantly across the entire region.

Monday and Tuesday with still pleasant weather

At the beginning of the week, however, they will continue to flow Atlantic air currents over the region capable of providing temperatures that are still pleasant and above seasonal averages by only a few degrees. Especially on Monday, these currents will cause local rain or thunderstorms to develop in the internal areas of the Sila and Pollino in the afternoon hours, but which will however dissolve rapidly. Different story for Tuesday when instead we will have an almost sunny day everywhere. As mentioned, temperatures will still remain stable or slightly increasing with values around 28-30°C along the coasts but with peaks of up to 33-34°C only in the internal areas of the Crati Valley, Sibari Plain, Marquisate and Gioia Tauro Plain.

Hot air over our region since Wednesday

Temperatures will undergo a notable increase starting Wednesday. A rush of cool air associated with an area of low pressure on the Iberian Peninsula will push the African anticyclone towards the Mediterranean and Calabria, bringing scorching temperatures throughout the week. According to the latest modeling releases, in fact, the thermometer will undergo an increase of approximately 8°C with values that will tend to remain above the seasonal averages by more than 10°C. This will mean that along the coasts there will be temperatures generally around 34-35°C but with very high peaks and around 38-39°C in the more internal areas and in particular in the Crati Valley, Piana di Sibari, Marchesato, Gioia Tauro plain and internal areas of the Vibo area. All seasoned with stable weather conditions everywhere even if we will have a lot of desert sand suspended in the atmosphere.
