BROKEN DREAM – Cairese also passes to Strinati: Terni FC goes down

TERNI FC – CAIRESE: 2-0

TERNI – A feat was needed but it didn’t succeed. Terni FC also succumbed at home after the 4-2 seven days ago and said goodbye to their dreams of direct Serie D glory.

In fact, at Strinati it ends 2-0 for the Ligurians who effectively close the practice already in the first half of the game. This time too, the first half was fatal for Borrello’s boys who capitulated in the 28th minute despite Cunzi’s miracle on Basso’s header, Hernandez put in the rebound from two steps away.

A couple of good circumstances for the rossoverdi follow: in the 35th minute Flavioni tries from distance, aiming too high. In the 43rd minute, however, Dianda spoiled Tozzi Borsoi’s goal by sending it to the back from two steps.

It’s the prelude to the guest’s second goal which arrives in the 47th minute: Sogno puts it in the centre, Gaggiotti diverts the trajectory and forces Cunzi to intervene right on the line, this time Turone is close by who makes no mistake and scores the 0-2!

It’s a sort of curtain for the Terni team who should score four goals in the second half to at least go to extra time. It won’t happen, in fact at the end of the match the frustration of the rossoverdi increases a little and they pay with two reds, first from Dianda and then from Romeo.

However, applause remains to be given to Roberto Borrello’s team because, as a freshman, they still came one step away from making history.
