he leaves behind a wife and two children

A death with dramatic circumstances, which occurred in the workshop where he had gone, even though it was Sunday, to cut some sheets with the hose. And the blade of this tool caused a wound to his throat which proved fatal: he died like this, on Sunday morning in Villa d’Adda, Luca Carrara, 41 years old, owner of the «Car Fuel 37» service area opened about twenty years ago by his father Giuseppe along the provincial road 169in the stretch between the Parscera tunnel exit and the roundabout at the beginning of the town of Villa d’Adda.

On Sunday the workshop and adjoining tobacconist bar were closed, while the petrol station in front and the nearby car wash were open with self-service. However, no one there must have noticed the drama that was taking place behind the garage door. Luca Carrara had arrived there in the morning, alone, and got to work inside the place.

However, at lunch time he had not returned home to his house in via Supercera – where he lived with his wife and two children aged 10 and 7 – and his relatives, seeing that he wasn’t even answering his cell phone, were worried and went to look for him. Making the tragic discovery: it was 12.27pm when the call to 112 came from the workshop.

The investigators immediately ruled out the presence of third parties in the workshop – which, among other things, as well as the entire service area. is covered by several cameras of the private video surveillance system – and also the possibility of an extreme gesture, at the moment not compatible with what was found in the workshop, namely Carrara who was working with the hose to cut some aluminum plates. The hypothesis that at the moment seems most likely is therefore that of an accident at work.

The date of the funeral has not yet been set: first it will require clearance from the Prosecutor’s Office. Clearance, however, will only arrive once the autopsy has been performed and the causes of death have been definitively clarified.

Luca Carrara, for his activity, was well known as was his entire family. A loving husband and father, he had two great passions inherited from his father Giuseppe: rallying and vintage cars. Gianfranco Biffi, having learned of the tragedy, went to the service station: «The Carraras are a well-known family in the town – commented the mayor –, a family well-liked by everyone and also involved in the world of volunteering, as well as always available to collaborate. On behalf of myself and the entire municipal administration, I offer my most sincere condolences to the Carrara family, who are experiencing these moments of pain due to the sudden death of their dear Luca.”
