Last year, some residents and commercial operators in via Dante Alighieri, in Marsala, had already brought to the attention of the competent authorities of the former Air Force barracks – where a themed museum managed by an association stands – the state of degradation affecting the site.
“Last year, before the arrival of summer and therefore the heat resulting in fires, we sent a request for intervention via PEC, on behalf of all residents in the area and those directly interested in this situation. reclamation and safety of the area surrounding the fence of the base itself. Given above all the numerous fires that the barracks itself and the surrounding area have been affected and the related consequences that the fires themselves bring”says the owner of the Bar Royal.
“At the PEC, I received a response and technicians were sent to look at everything. The same people actually verified and gave me reason for the terrible situation the barracks is in, but at the same time they reported that they could not have intervened immediately, because the weeds had covered the numerous chasms and therefore it was not safe for the operators to intervene. . Moral? Safety measures for possible fires have become safety measures for operators and so on. Result? Today, after more than a year, everything is as before, even worse“. Now residents and traders are asking those responsible to put pressure on everything to be resolved in order to make this area safer.
