TO Barletta, the appointment with the TCI volunteers, led by the regional vice consul Luciana Doronzo, is for Saturday 22 June give her 4.00pm to 9.00pm at the Church of San Michele.
By booking in advance on the dedicated page for one of the available slots, you will have the opportunity to discover a single hall environment, rebuilt in 1701, which preserves centuries of religious history: starting from the 16th century fresco depicting the Madonna and Child, up to to the oldest structures of the Church – such as the apse with traces of frescoes and the original flooring with small rhomboidal stone tiles – now visible thanks to the 2020 restoration.
The beauty of this church, however, does not stop at its architecture. The structure, in fact, is also the headquarters of the “Barletta Civitas Mariae” Pastoral Festivals Committee which is committed to opening its doors to the public and promoting cultural initiatives in collaboration with local associations.
The event, from 6.30 pm to 9.00 pm, will be enriched by the presence of the vocal ensemble Pueri Cantores with the direction of Maestro Anna Maria Stella Pansini, by figures from the Thempus association, and by a wine tasting at curated by AIS Puglia – BAT Svevia Delegation with sommelier Michele Delvecchio, thanks to the collaboration of two important local wine companies: “Vini Fieramosca – 1950- Cantina Sociale di Barletta” and “Le Cantine della Bardulia”.
Open for You Under the Stars is the result of over ten years of experience of the Open for You project of the Italian Touring Club which, since 2005, has been committed to spreading awareness that the heritage of our country is a shared good and that, therefore, it is everyone’s responsibility take care of it. With the Aperti per Voi project, the Italian Touring Club has been committed since 2005 – thanks also to its volunteers – to taking care of assets of exceptional value, guaranteeing the continuous welcome of visitors and informative orientation activities in places of art and culture .
