Mayor Alberto Felice De Toni has recently introduced new provisions regarding the sale, serving and consumption of alcoholic beverages within the Municipality. This measure aims to improve urban safety and reduce accidents related to alcohol abuse.
Time restrictions for sales
Starting from 9pm until 8am the following daypublic, commercial and artisanal establishments will not be able to sell alcoholic and spirits drinks. For the “Quartiere delle Magnolie” and the designated streets, such as via Tullio and piazza della Repubblica, the ban starts at 6 pm. Automatic shops and 24-hour vending machines are also included in the restriction.
Restrictions on administration and consumption
From 01:00 to 08:00 in the morningthroughout the municipal territory, the administration of alcoholic and spirit drinks in public establishments will be prohibited. Furthermore, in the station area the consumption of alcohol in public places has been prohibited for the entire day, excluding areas with concessions.
Exclusions and exceptions
The restrictions do not apply to establishments offering the service home sales, nor during temporary public events organized under the patronage of the administration. These exemptions are crucial to allow businesses to continue operating in certain circumstances.
Sanctions for failure to comply with regulations
Activities that violate the provisions introduced will incur significant financial penalties, ranging from 200 to 1,200 euros. In severe cases, the immediate termination of the activity and the precautionary seizure of alcoholic beverages. Furthermore, in the presence of repeated violations, the police can suspend the activity itself.
Statements by Mayor De Toni
Mayor De Toni underlined the importance of these new measures to improve city safety. He stated: “Since the first day of our settlement, we have strengthened urban security measures and increased the number of local police officers. We have adopted protocols to monitor sensitive places and have established collaborations with the Ministry of the Interior and the Prefecture to monitor the territory. These measures are crucial to prevent accidents and ensure safe spaces for citizens and families, such as Moretti Park, which has been recovered thanks to targeted interventions.”
