Villa d’Adda. Family and work at the petrol station were his life, rallying and vintage cars were his great passions. Luca Carrara41 years old, is the victim of what according to the police was a tragic accident at work.

On Sunday morning (June 16), as he didn’t come home, his family raised the alarm: they found him lying on the floor, with a visible wound on his neck, inside the workshop of the 37 Car Fuel service station in Viale delle Industrie in Villa d’Adda, opened by his father Giuseppe about twenty years ago and today carried on by his son.

The alarm went off around 12.30pm. Carrara was alone and for this reason there are no direct witnesses to the incident. Zogno’s medical vehicle, ambulance and police rushed to the scene. The hypothesis – the only one currently taken into consideration by those investigating – is that it was a tragic accident. Apparently the 41-year-old was handling a hose to cut an iron sheet, but he lost control of the tool and injured his neck. Fatal, unfortunately.

“The Carrara family is well known in the town, not only for the service station but also because they are involved in volunteering – comments the mayor Gianfranco Biffi, who arrived on his motorbike in the petrol station square to convey his condolences to his relatives -. Luca was a home and work guy and was well known in the rally scene. I believe he has participated in many races”. From Bergamo to Sardinia, his Facebook page is full of photos and videos with racing cars, in particular from the beloved Martini Racing.

The Bergamo Prosecutor’s Office ordered an autopsy on the 41-year-old’s body and the seizure of the workshop in which he was working, to carry out further investigations and exclude any doubts about what happened. Carrara leaves his parents, a sister and his wife in pain Alexandra and two children aged 6 and 10. The date of the funeral has yet to be set.
