Livorno, pretends to be a real estate agent and defrauds a 35-year-old

A 56-year-old from Livorno was reported for fraud because after posing as a real estate agent he pocketed the deposit for an apartment and then disappeared. In fact, the man published an advert on the internet in which he proposed renting an apartment in Piazza Mazzini and in a short time a 35-year-old of African origin, resident in Donoratico, said he was interested in his family. In a short time he got in touch with the alleged tenant to make an appointment and view the house.

Once the visit was made, accompanied by the 56-year-old who presented himself as an agent of a real estate agency in Livorno and convinced that he had finally found the accommodation suited to his needs, the 35-year-old decided to put forward his proposal by reimbursing the man 1,200 euro deposit as would have been requested. From that moment on, however, the alleged fraudster first gave vague answers about the start of the practice and then disappeared definitively.

At that point the 35-year-old had nothing left to do but get in touch with the Donoratico carabinieri who immediately set out on the trail of the 56-year-old who was tracked down in a short time. From the analyzes conducted, it would not be the first time that he would carry out this type of scam.
