Lorenza Mosca Teodono, 43 years oldex-wife of Luca Ricci (in prison for the double murder of his parents) she is a woman devastated by grief, who is rummaging deep inside herself to find the strength to carry her throughchildren aged 14 and 17 towards the peaceful future they deserve, despite having to go through this now terrible emotional and media storm.

“Your sons they want to see you. They love you and you love them, I know it. For us you will never be a murderer”, she let her ex-husband know, speaking through tears to the cameras of the broadcast “L’estate live” on Rai1, the only one she gave herself to yesterday as she still couldn’t visit him in prison. A few minutes in which she traced the picture of a loving father, a former partner with whom she had remained on excellent terms not only for the love of her children, a good man who had never foreshadowed an inconvenience that could lead to this. “I didn’t know about the final difficulty,” she said instead in a phone call, which she ended quickly because “now I have problems to solve.” There is in fact a family to keep together, legal problems to resolve and even two funerals to think about.

Problems economics of the past, however, knows them well and clearly blames the banks for them. “In the past he had a company that closed in the negative – said Lorenza – and the bank asked us for guarantees, increasingly greater until they asked us for the mortgage of the parents’ house. However, the bank calculated very high interest on us, because within a year from an initial debt of 30 thousand euros they made us take on a debt (another mortgage, ed) of 55 thousand euros. This ruined us.”

They split up since 2018, Lorenza and Luca, but the friendship remained. “We met on Sunday evening to collect our daughter’s glasses – continues the woman -. She was fine. She greeted her daughter with a ‘hello my love’. He always loved his children madly. And they love him. He loved me madly too and still loved me. I still love him too.”

As they had made friends, even ex-wife describes Luca Ricci as “an extremely good person”. “He’s not a criminal, he’s never hurt a fly”. This is why Lorenza cannot explain what drove Luca to kill his parents in cold blood. “How is it possible? I can’t believe it. Yesterday they told me there had been an accident at home. I thought either a gas leak or that they had felt ill. I could never have imagined something like that. Then little by little during the day things began to emerge: the head, the strangulation… I told myself that he couldn’t have done something like that. Because he has never been violent. As far as I know, he didn’t argue with his parents. In fact, I had stopped by this week to say hello to my in-laws. I lovingly called her Befana. ‘Hello Befana, how are you?’ I told her as always. They all seemed very calm to me. This is why I can’t understand it.”
Nobody of those who know Luca he’s been able to do it for years. We talked to dozens of friends: they all described him the same way. Only in the end they all emphasized that they had also lost sight of him lately. Only neighbors and co-workers had the opportunity to see him more often because “he didn’t leave the house much anymore.”
