Appointment with sport and inclusion TomorrowMonday 17 June, in Taranto.

From 6pm it will be the shopping centre Ionian Gates to host the team of sitting volleyball from the ASD Volleyball Taranto. Reflectors on two years of great results and, above all, the demonstration of how we can go beyond any form of disability.

Sitting Volleyball is in fact one inclusive sport derived from volleyball, born in Holland in the second half of the 1950s as a discipline adapted for the practice of sports by people with disabilities. A volleyball played while sitting on the floor, with the smallest field and the lowest net. When the player touches the ball, he must have his buttocks in contact with the floor.

Due to its characteristics, Sitting Volley is often promoted to promote the social integration of people with disabilities, given that it can be practiced without distinction from individuals with disabilities (athletes with amputations, paraplegia and other functional limitations) and at the same time also from able-bodied individualsnot requiring the use of sports equipment or aids.

Tomorrow it will be possible to come into contact with a reality that also in our territory is getting great feedback, and deserves the right attention.
