CATANIA – Unusual discovery by the Carabinieri of Piazza Dante, in the garden of the house of a 43-year-old of Indian origins, who was reported for money laundering and illegal possession of weapons. The soldiers entered the villa for a search and, in the garden, saw the carcass of a white Fiat Panda. The inspection of the vehicle also made it possible to find the license plates of the vehicle and of another small car, as well as 2 car radios and parts of cars that had already been dismantled.
Immediate checks on the license plates revealed that the car found had been stolen a few days earlier from a 43-year-old from Catania, and the other license plate belonged to another Fiat Panda, also stolen in Catania and owned by a 77-year-old.
The search was then extended to the entire house and also to the garage, and it is precisely here that, inside a large box, the carabinieri found a 9 caliber rifle, with serial number, as well as 35 9 caliber bullets and 15 38 caliber bullets. Investigations are still underway to trace the origin of the weapon. All the material was seized and the homeowner was reported.
